SOUR MOUY: CLOSING THE GAP FOR YOUNG CAMBODIANS   by  Eldon Lee   Sour Mouy is an online mentoring platform connecting people who can give advice, to people who need them, bridging a widening information gap in Cambodia’s young population. Founded by Ou Ritthy, one of Cambodia’s rising changemakers. “Sour Mouy is a new initiative in the digital age to help fix the dividing gap between the students in the rural areas and cities. Plus, it can provide the less privileged and less informed students with the right tools and decision to succeed,” Ritthy explained. New site aims to mentor youth Fri, 4 May 2018 Brendan O’Byrne Since he was a university student, Ou Ritthy has been an advocate for qualities that Cambodian politics generally lack – in his own words, “dialogue, political debate, policy debate and tolerance”. Seven years ago, Ritthy founded Politikoffee, a popular political discussion group that has established itself as the premier venue to discuss and debate Cambodia’s political situation. Now he is hoping that his newest program, a professional mentorship platform called Sour Mouy that Ritthy launched last month, will enjoy similar success. Sour Mouy, which roughly translates to “ask a question”, is a website that connects young people with mentors who can guide them through the process of choosing a university major, applying for a scholarship to study abroad or starting a new job. “It is a platform where I can connect youth with people in the city, rural areas, and even abroad,” Ritthy said. “Anyone can register as a m...
Sour Mouy: Your guide towards successful future Srey Kumneth / Khmer Times  April 27, 2018 Young people who are about to enter the most challenging and life-changing phase of their academic life – tertiary education – and those who have just graduated from the university are often bombarded with so many questions: What would your major be? What will your career be after graduation? Does your choice of degree programme in line with your interests and passion? More often than not, these questions do not have easy and consistent answers. In order to highlight this seemingly unnoticed dilemma among the youth, the Sour Mouy is created. It is an online mentoring and advisory platform for students and young graduates. The online platform’s creator, Ou Ritthy, aims to assist the youth in getting professional and thoughtful pieces of advice and tips as they make decisions for their future. CAMBODIA: Prime Minister Hun Sen Was A Successful Wartime Leader But Certainly Not One In Peacetime Cambodia Published (April 25, 2017):  Asian Human Rights Commission  An article, titled  “Prime Minister Hun Sen Was A Successful Wartime Leader But Certainly Not One In Peacetime Cambodia”  by Mr Ou Ritthy, forwarded by the Asian Human Rights Commission Cambodia’s historic "July 22, 2014" ended disputing political parties’ electoral political deadlock and violence. It unleashed a “culture of dialogue” between Hun Sen’s ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and Sam Rainsy’s opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) that prevailed at party , personal and family level. But the dialogue and the honeymoon lasted not even a year. Threatened to kill off the “culture of dialogue”, Hun Sen accused Sam Rainsy and deputy Kem Sokha of playing “good cop-bad cop”.
